George Lawrence Schaudel Jr, 93, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on March 17, 2026, in Woodbridge, VA.

Born September 12, 1932, raised in Bayonne, NJ, he was the son of George L. Schaudel and Jane Konieczko. George enlisted in Marine Corps Reserves while in high school in 1948 and upon his graduation in 1950, the Reserves were called up. On November 10 (USMC birthday), 18-year-old George landed in Korea, soon to be involved in the historic Chosin Reservoir Campaign in North Korea. George made the Marine Corps his career and after retiring in 1974 as MSgt settled in Woodbridge and worked for GSA. George was a member of many military organizations, and an officer in The Chosin Few, a veteran's survivor organization. He volunteered weekly at the National Museum of the Marine Corps for over 15 years.

George is survived by Loretta, his wife of 66 years; his daughter, Caroline Vaughan (Sam) of the Eastern Shore, VA; his son, George L Schaudel III (Wanda) of Houston, TX; his brother, Robert Schaudel of Marietta, GA; six grandchildren: Bryan (Jacqueline), Derek (Gina), Sarah (Hunter), John Austin, Cade, and Riley; five great-grandchildren and one on the way. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Jane Schaudel and his sister Joan Schaudel Lanigan.

George was buried with full military honors Quantico National Cemetery..
